What a deck costs with Ace of Decks
Most of our deck projects are $60,000 and up. The estimator above prices your deck from the same numbers we use in our own estimates and shows a range, not a quote. Your real number comes from a priced design of your space.
What moves the price
- Size. Decking and framing are priced by area, so square footage moves the number most.
- Height. A raised deck needs taller posts, more railing and longer stairs. Railing is required above 30 inches off the ground (IRC R312.1.1).
- Decking. TimberTech composite and advanced PVC, from Terrain+ up through Reserve, Legacy, Harvest, Harvest+ and Landmark.
- Framing. Pressure-treated wood, Fortress steel or aluminum.
- Railing. Composite, aluminum, cable or glass, priced by the foot.
- Shape and extras. L-shapes, angled corners, two levels, skirting, an under-deck ceiling and stairs.
- Beams. On a second-story deck, heavy beams carry the deck on fewer posts so the patio below stays open.
What’s included
Footings below the 42 inch frost line, framing, decking, railing, permits and construction plans. Stairs are priced per set. Small decks carry a setup charge, since permit runs and site visits cost the same on any size.
